PLANTATIONS

Agroforestal is a Simplemente Madera partner Company. It is the leading tropical hardwood plantation company in Nicaragua and since its establishment in 1996 by French agronomist Clement Poncon almost 3 million trees have been planted. Oak, Mahogany, Cedar and Pochote are the Main species, with average optimum growth time between 10-17 years and tree thinning being available from year 8.

All plantations that compromise Agroforestal are FSC Smartwood certified. The certified wood being produced will be the basic resource for Simplemente Madera furniture and wood products production in the near future. Round wood thinning is being used for Architectural work.

Agroforestal extensive expansion plans for the coming years will transform it into one of the leading plantations enterprises in Central America.
